DNA match and family trees indicate Jasper previously married or had relationship with Lydia Stephens' sister, Rosa or Rose Bell Stephens (no memorial found). The sisters are found together on census sheets. Rosa apparently died around 1880, leaving one son, Grant Emerson Arnold, the DNA match. A 1900 census supports the fact that Jasper married around 1875 and that he and Lydia married about five years later. Lydia had seven children, all living at home at the time of the census, and did not include Grant Emerson Arnold.
