Malcolm Randolph Johnson Sr. On Monday, December 11, 2017, our beloved Malcolm Randolph Johnson Sr. departed this life at Lynchburg General Hospital in Lynchburg, Virginia. Malcolm, affectionately known as "Mack", was born on October 11, 1936, to the late Ethel and Frank Johnson. At an early age, Mack accepted Christ and joined Union Hill Baptist Church in Amherst, Va., and while at Union Hill, he became a Trustee. Mack was employed for many years at Lynchburg Foundry and later retired from Griffin Pipe. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Johnson; his brothers, Carl Johnson, William Johnson, Purnell Johnson, Howard Johnson and Oscar Johnson; and one sister, Gracie Dixon. He leaves to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Naomi Johnson; one daughter, Wanda (Gary) Mays Sr. of Amherst; four sons, Malcolm (Wanda) Johnson of Madison Heights, Jeff (Wanda) Johnson of Lynchburg, Glenn Johnson of Maryland and Al Johnson of Amherst; two brothers, Pershing (Betty) Johnson and Duvall Johnson; six grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Union Hill Baptist Church, Amherst, with the Rev. Sidney Dove officiating. The family will receive friends at 175 Depot St., Amherst, Virginia, from 5 to 7 p.m. daily. The interment will be in the Christian Aid Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to www.Davis-Turner.com.
