Rebecca Lynch, age 18, of New Paltz died Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center, Poughkeepsie. She was born November 14, 1999 in Chisinau, Moldova and is the beloved daughter of Brian D. and Robby (Vorspan) Lynch of New Paltz.

Rebecca was a senior at New Paltz High School. As a gifted artist and photographer, she was hoping to take her talents to the next level by pursuing a college degree in the fine arts.

Besides her parents, she is survived by a brother, Noah Lynch of New Paltz, NY; her grandparents, Al and Shirley Vorspan of New Paltz, NY; her aunts and uncles: Chuck, Kenny, Debby, Reva, Emily, Greg, Brendan, Kathy, Danny, Maryann and Annie; and cousins Ben, Sam, Jonah, Emmett, Emily, Zach, Ali, Danny, Krizzel, Michael and Kate.

Funeral Services will take place on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 12:30 pm at the Julien J. Studley Theatre, Old Main Building, at SUNY New Paltz College with Rabbi William Strongin and Rabbi Carl Astor officiating. Burial will follow at New Paltz Rural Cemetery, 81 Plains Road, New Paltz, NY.

The family requests memorial donations may be made to: Clubhouse International (Creating Community: Changing the World of Mental Health), or Volunteering Moldova, to support the orphanages of Moldova, in Rebecca’s memory.
