Lou Ann Jones, 94, of Beckley, WV passed away peacefully on December 13, 2017 with her family by her side. She was born April 29, 1923 in Odd WV, the late Abraham Eri Garretson (1880-1975) and Louzina Ann Bolen-Garretson (1886-1967).

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Carl William Jones (1918-2007) whom she married on December 1, 1948 in Hinton, Summers County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1948, Page 443, Application Date: November 24, 1948); one son, Carl William Jones II (Deceased); brothers, James "Jim" Bolen (1902-1970), Wesley Garretson (Deceased), Rev. Estel Brynt Garretson (1908-1956), Beecher Garretson (Deceased), Okey Lee Garretson (1920-1948), and Alvie E. Garretson (1932-1996); sisters, Dorothy J. Garretson-Hornsby (1912-1994), Opal Rinda GarretsonWills (1913-1974), Roxie Garretson (Deceased), Lydia Garretson (Deceased), Monnie Garretson (Deceased), Virginia "Jenny" Alice Garretson (1922-1961), Christine Garretson (Deceased), Mavis Garretson (1926-1928), and Reva Evelyn Garretson-Midkiff (1930-2008).

Lou Ann retired as a Nurse from Raleigh General Hospital after 30 plus years where she trained as a cadet Nurse during WWII. She was also a member of Maxwell Hill Baptist Church for 55 years. Mrs. Jones enjoyed hobbies such as cooking, sewing, gardening, reading her bible, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzy Jones-Blair & husband Greg Blair of Prosperity, WV, Kathy Jones-Dickerson & husband Bruce Dickerson of Sandstone, WV; grandchildren, Carey Shrewsbury & husband Robbie) Shrewsbury of Sandstone, WV, Alli Michael & husband Duane Michael of Beckley, WV, Brent Blair of Beckley, WV, BJ Dickerson & wife Carley Dickerson of Bradley, WV, Brittanie Mink & husband JR Mink of Shady Spring, WV; great-grandchildren, Greg, CJ, Michelle, Keatley, Cooper, Carlie, Seth, Paige, Blake, Taylor, Logan, TY, Conner, Izzy, and Brayden.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, at 12:30 PM December 17, 2017 at Maxwell Hill Baptist Church-301 Teel Road, Beckley, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
