Being born and raised in the Branch Community and coming from a large family, she learned her work ethic from a young age. Having 11 siblings she also learned how to cook for a large family. She had the blessing of being a fabulous cook her entire life. Even if it was just you and her eating, she never could cook just for two, there was always a feast to be had. She met and married Earl T. Mounger at an early age and they were married for more than 50 years. Several years after his passing, she found love again and was married to Earl Harvell, who also passed away. Faye knew the Lord from an early age and was a faithful member to the churches she attended. Most currently, she was a member of the Northwest Christian Church in McKinney. Imitating Christ, she had a kind, servants’ heart, and in this quality, she served her church when and where she was needed, and was always available to her church family whenever there was a need. Family was very important to her, as she always visited when she could, and she cherished all the gatherings, dinners, reunions and holidays. She was very interested in her family history and took this passion to the point where she and her sister researched for years and traveled many places to complete a book on the Hankey family genealogy.
Her work career began in the offices of several Doctors’, but later in life discovered a passion for Education. She began her education to become a teacher at Sam Houston State University and then transferring to Texas Woman’s University in Denton, where she eventually earned her Masters Degree. She taught, shaped and molded many young minds working in the Westminster ISD, Van Alstyne ISD and McKinney ISD, eventually retiring after many years of service.
