The family of Beverly “Bev” June West is deeply saddened by the passing of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother on 12/​8/​2017 in Pensacola, FL.

She was born and raised in the Eau Claire, WI, area until in 2014 when she moved to Atmore, AL, to live with her daughters. While living in Eau Claire she was active at Ascension and Concordia churches and then a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, FL.

She was a homemaker and mother to her two daughters and later worked at local clerical jobs. Her last job was volunteering through the Senior Aids program at Sacred Heart Hospital with the Lifeline program.

Bev was born 9/​11/​1925 to Maurice and Helen Storlie and was the oldest of 8 children. She attended Mondovi schools. After graduation, in 1942, she attended Eau Claire Teachers College for 1 year. She moved with a friend from school to Madison to work at Truax Field. There she met and married Arthur West in 1945, After his discharge from the Army Air Corps they moved to Eau Claire.

She is survived by Kathleen “Kathy” Belden and Karen O’Gorman (Loyal) Rongholt, Atmore, AL, and 6 grandchildren, Shawn (Erica) O’Gorman, Shane O’Gorman, Heather O’Gorman (Jason) Gardow, William (Janaya) Rongholt, Laura Rongholt (Paul) Haug, and Terina Rongholt (Tom) Pavelski and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Dona (Marv) Bunney and brother Charles (Terri) Storlie.

Bev was preceded in death by parents Maurice and Helen Storlie, sisters Elizabeth “Betty” Thompson, Susan Grubish, brothers John “Jack” Storlie, Roger Storlie, and Robert “Bob” Storlie.

A funeral service is being held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pensacola, FL, on Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at 11 a.m. Johnson-Quimby funeral home in Atmore, AL, is assisting the family.

A service at Concordia Lutheran Church and internment at Lake View Cemetery in Eau Claire, WI, will be determined at a later date.

A special thank you to Dr. Thomas Sandager who cared for her thoughtfully during the years she lived in Eau Claire.
