Matthew J. Fleming, age 39, of Johnstown, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Nathan Littauer Hospital, Gloversville.
He was born on December 15, 1977 in Amsterdam.
Matthew was a Class of 1996 graduate of Johnstown High School and received his Bachelors Degree from Alfred University in 2000. He was employed at General Electric in Schenectady.
He enjoyed fishing, surf casting and skiiing. Matthew was a member of the IUE Union.
He is survived by his wife Amanda Valachovic Fleming who he married on June 13, 2009, father Michael J. Fleming and his wife Linda, mother Jodi Sitterly Ferguson and her husband Shane, one son Murphy James Fleming, one daughter Lilah Reagan Fleming, stepbrother Scott Seeley and his wife Amy father-in law and mother-in-law Tom and Patricia Valachovic, two brothers-in-law Aaron Valachovic (Michelle) and Ethan Valachovic (Amy) and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Matthew was predeceased by his maternal grandparents James and Florence Sitterly and paternal grandparents Harold and Rita Fleming.
