James Edward Slack, of Pauls Valley, passed away December 7, 2017 in Yukon, Oklahoma at the age of 58 years.

James was born January 20, 1959 in San Manuel, Arizona to Thomas Erl and Norma Ruth (Blackwood) Slack. He was raised in Pauls Valley and attended Pauls Valley schools. He served a tour of duty of seven years in the United States Army. He later went to work in the Oil Fields and was working as an Operator.

James is preceded in death by his father, Thomas Erl Slack; grandparents, Jim and Louise Slack and Hap and Lilly Blackwood; and an aunt, Ginger Blackwood.

Surviving family include: his wife, Audrey Lee Slack; a special person in his life, Amanda Parkey, both of Pauls Valley; children, Jeffrey Ty Slack of Norman; Susanne Michelle Slack of Lawton; and Harley Jean Smith and husband, Ryan, of Oklahoma City; step children, Jerry Don Buie, Jr. of Eufaula; Whitney Rae Cyrus and husband, Robert, of Owasso; his mother, Norma Ruth Slack of Pauls Valley; grandchildren, Riley Michelle, Timothy, and Ryder Lane; step grandchildren, Jeremy, Christopher, Mahkia, Amira, Ariah, William, and Johnathan; and a daughter in law, April Spriggs-Slack, of Lawton; brothers , Toby Eugene Slack and wife, Ava, and Anthony Eric Slack, all of Pauls Valley; his aunt, Yvonne Slack Boiselle of Oregon; nephews , Brett Bird and his daughter, Harley , of Sulphur and Thomas Slack and wife, Tess, and their daughter, Kira, of Elmore City; one niece , Jordan Slack , of Pauls Valley; cousins , Shannon Appler and husband, Craig, and their children
Mikel, Zachary and Kaitlian of Washington State, and Travis Fitzpatrick and children, Ethan and Kyle of Oregon; and an ex-sister in law , Tami Heard of Elmore City.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Henry Rush, Jr. Services for cremation are under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
