ODESSA - Carol Marie Sanders Livingston, a Christian, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister and a friend, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, in Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, after suffering a stroke. Carol was born on April 7, 1944, to Charles and Vivian Sanders, in Talihina, Okla. She was happily married to Mike Livingston for 38 years. She was preceded in death by her father; mother; and brother Darrell. She is survived by her husband, Mike; and their children, K.J. Vallies and husband Gary of Mechanicsville, Va.; Shelly Nichols and husband Morgan from Abilene, Texas, Melissa Dominguez and husband, Albert from Marfa; Wyck Livingston and wife Marla from Marfa; Sharon Livingston and Mike Miranda from Marfa; her brother, Richard Sanders and wife Debbie from Fort Stockton; her sister, Brenda Tyler from Springfield, Mo.; her uncle and friend, Wayne Roberts and wife Edith; her aunt, Pat Deathridge from Oklahoma; four nephews; and many wonderful friends. She found great joy in her 12 grandkids, Evan, Daniel, Chase, Brandon, Levi, Kaylee, Dustin, Gavin, Coy, Jayden, Kendall and Hagan. They will miss her loving spirit dearly. She was a member of Saint Paul Episcopal Church of Marfa. She was active in the ESL program, the Thursday Christian Book study group and St. Paul's needlework missions that made hats and scarves for North Sea Sailors. She enjoyed working in her yard, and her passions included playing with her grandchildren, reading, working puzzles and many types of crafts. A special word of gratitude for the loving care is given to Dr. Leshnower, his nurse, Penny, and the staff at ICU Medical Center Hospital. Carol's gentle spirit and loving heart will truly be missed by all that knew and loved her.
Visitation will be Wednesday evening at the Marfa Funeral Home. Services are scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10, at Saint Paul Episcopal Church in Marfa. Burial will follow in the Marfa Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Isenhower, Dale Isenhower, John David Isenhower, Tommy Cockrell, Earl Albrecht, Bill Suddeth, Bob Bagley and Dave Howard. The family suggest memorials be made to the Presidio County Barn Association, P.O. Box 1121, Marfa, TX 79843; the Marfa Library, Marfa, TX. 79843, or to Saint Paul Episcopal Church, Marfa, TX 79843.
