Warren Louis Nelson, 81, of Menominee, MI passed away on Monday, December 11, 2017, at Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. Warren was born on December 15, 1935, in Menominee to the late Clayton and Elsie (Mahlknecht) Nelson.

Warren was a graduate of Menominee High School class of 1953. He proudly served his country in the United States Marines during the Korean War.

On September 5, 1959, Warren married the former Judith Knutson in Menominee. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1999.
Warren was the owner operator of Warren’s Swedish Bakery, baker at Boucher’s bakery and bakery manager at Angeli’s Supermarket. He later went to work at Fairway Foods retiring in 1999 as a warehouseman. Warren was an avid Packer fan. He loved growing gardens of flowers and vegetables. Warren loved family gatherings around the pool where all family and friends were welcome.

Survivors include his children: Jenny (Darold Lemire) Brault of Menominee, MI; Jeffrey Nelson of Green Bay, WI; Jim Nelson of Menominee, MI and Jerry (Chris) Nelson of Marinette, WI; six grandchildren: Amy (Bill) Seefeldt, Katie (Josh) Schwittay, Travis Nelson, Tyler Nelson, Ryan Nelson, and Connor Nelson; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Elsie Woodward and Phyllis Robinson.

Warren was preceded in death by two grandsons: Chad Nelson and Jacob Brault; three brothers: Clayton, Marvin, and George Nelson; and five sisters: Dorothy Milkey, Violet Wachal, Virginia Schwerzler, Alice Ruatti, and Carol Nelson.

Family will receive friends at Anderson Kell Funeral Home on Thursday, December 14, 2017, after 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4 p.m., with Deacon Steve Gretzinger officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery on Friday at 10 a.m. with Military Honors.
