Carolyn Mills Terry passed away on Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017 at the age of 71. She was a life long resident of Bledsoe County and member of Wheeler Hill Church of Christ. Mom was a proud member of the Bledsoe County High School Class of 1963. She later graduated from the Jay Rogers School of Beauty. In 1974 she began working with her dad as the Deputy County Clerk of Bledsoe County. She followed in his footsteps and was elected county clerk in 1986. She remained in office until her death. She loved serving the people of Bledsoe County and was an active member of the Republican Party. My mom wrote her obituary every day of her life. There are no words that can describe her love, kindness, or thoughtfulness. She touched the lives of everyone who crossed her path. Not many folks have the privilege of being able to say they never heard their mother say an unkind word about anyone. A harsh word was never spoken nor did she ever judge another individual.

She was preceded in death by her parents, C.D. Mills Jr. and Willie Ruth Simmons Mills; brother, Allen Mills; and in-laws, Gordon and Theno Terry, all of Pikeville. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Thomas G. "Tommy" Terry; daughter, Jennifer Terry; beloved son-in-law, Stephen Reel, all of Pikeville; sister, Sandra Fisher, of Chattanooga; brother, William “Buster” (Helen) Mills, of Pikeville; brother-in-law, Alfred (Cindy) Terry of Pikeville, sister-in-law, Sue (Robert) Lewis, of Pikeville; sister-in-law, Margret (Daniel) Smith, of Dunlap; special aunt and uncle, James and Donna Boynton, of Pikeville; daughter at heart, Genese Sapp; sister at heart, Jane Mills; several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and many friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. CST at Wheeler Hill Church of Christ with Ministers Bobby Collier and Dale Barger officiating. Burial will be at Wheeler Hill Cemetery. Online condolences can be made at www.reedfamilyfh.com. The arrangements are by Putnam-Reed Funeral Home, Pikeville. Visitation will be held 1 to - 8 p.m. CST Tuesday at the funeral home and Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m. CST at Wheeler Hill Church of Christ.
