Rebecca married John Henry (went by Henry) Harting (1841–1895) on 10 Sep 1865 at York, York County, Pennsylvania. Rebecca and John were the parents of four known children, namely:
1. Mary Jane Harting Jensen (1866-1888)
2. Clara H. Harting Reed (1868-1926)
3. Charles Henry Harting (1869-1944)
4. Frances Fahs Harting Fehr (1878-1934)
The family moved from Pennsylvania to Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie County, Iowa between 1870 and 1878. In 1870 the parents (Henry listed as 25 years old and Rebecca as 23 and the first three children were living at York Township, York County, Pennsylvania with Henry listed as a laborer.
