Funeral services for Mary Ellen Welch Stanfield will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, December 14, 2017 in the chapel of John Kramer & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Thibodeaux officiating. Interment will follow in Alexandria Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2017 from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
Mary Ellen Welch Stanfield, age 88, a resident of Alexandria for 49 years passed away on Sunday afternoon, December 10, 2017.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Lucien and Elsie Welch; one brother, Jack Welch; her husband, Charles Wesley Stanfield; one son, Chuck Stanfield, and one granddaughter.
Mrs. Stanfield was a beloved wife, mother, grand MAW, and great grand MAW. She was a member of the US Women’s Bowling Champions for decades; and was formally active in the LA Women’s Democratic Association.
Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Joyce Stanfield Carnes (Steve), and J’nette Stanfield Banks (Larry); four grandchildren, Lee Carnes, Emily Carnes- Chapman (Shannon), Christy Escabedo (Josh) and Allyson Shelton; five great grandchildren, Chaz Wesley Brouillette, Zoey Carnes, Ella, Josh and Ava Escabedo; and one sister, Bettye Reon.
