MYRTLE LOWETH TAGGART HARRIS
July 14, 1921 - December 5, 2017
It is with sadness but also gratitude that the family of Myrtle Loweth Taggart Harris marked her passing on December 5, 2017 in Salem, Oregon, at age 96. She is survived by three sons, Charles, Andrew, and James, along with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Myrtle grew up in Colorado Springs Colorado as one of three daughters of Dwight and Loweth Taggart. While attending the USO dances during WWII she met her husband of 57 years Wesley M. Harris, late emeritus professor of music at Idaho State University. From dancing with GIs at the USO club in Colorado Spring, to cooking for extended family at the Pink Garter Theatre in West Yellowstone, Montana, to administering for Volunteers in Service to America, and volunteering for The Oregon Library for the Blind, not to mention decades of Red Cross blood drives, church rummage sales, pancake suppers and the like, she personally enriched the lives of many with her steadfast belief in helping others. She created a haven for family, friends, colleagues of her husband, and students in both Pocatello, ID and Salem, OR. She will be missed by all.
