OBITUARY: James Jim G Adams
James Jim G. Adams, 79, of Kennewick, WA passed away peacefully with his daughter and son-in-law at his side on December 9th, 2017 at his home following a battle with multiple cancers. He was a longtime resident of Kennewick.

Jim was born on February 1, 1938 in Fairfax, OK to Raymond Adams and Bernice (Brewer) Adams. At the age of three, he hitchhiked with his father from Oklahoma to Winslow, AZ. His father worked for many years with the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe railroad.

He lived in Winslow until he enlisted in the US Navy at the age of 17. He served in the Great Lakes, Florida, and aboard the USS Tingey (DD-549) as a gunners mate prior to his Honorable Discharge.

He started his long career in the trucking industry in southern California after his Naval service. His 40 + years included work with Standard Oil, Chevron, Flying J, PIE, Pacific Fruit Produce, and Transtate. He was a driver, leadman, foreman, and dispatcher during his career.

After retiring, he was an avid gardener and fisherman. He enjoyed visiting with his children and grandchildren in Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ivalyn in 2013; his father Raymond in 1995; his mother Bernice in 2011; and his brother Raymond in 2015.

Survivors include his sister Betty & John Tulumello; brother Al Markley; daughter Angela & Greg Vassallo; son Eric Adams; granddaughter Jessica & Chase Petersen; grandson Josiah & Kaitlyn Vassallo; grandson Jared Adams; grandson Tyler Adams,

Graveside services will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017, 1:00 p.m., at Riverview Heights Cemetery, 1200 S. Olympia St., Kennewick.
