Mr. David W. Herring, age 63, of Metropolis, IL, died at 11:35 am on November 29, 2017, at the Ray and Kay Eckstein Center in Paducah, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 1pm on Saturday, December 2, 2017 at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with Rev. Glenn Coram officiating. Burial will follow in Kingston Cemetery.

Mr. Herring retired in 2007 from Local 37 Insulators Union out of Evansville, IN.

David is survived by his wife of 32 years, Glenda (Coram) Herring of Metropolis; four children, Richard Herring and wife Cheriah of Metropolis, Kendra Shell and husband Darin of Marble Hill, MO, Cathleen Cooper of Thornton, CO, Timothy Cooper of Metropolis; eight grandchildren, Lucy, Ellie, Blake, Max, Brookelyn, Caryn, Thomas, Cathryn; one sister, Sheila Eckenberg and husband Marvin of Metropolis; two brothers, Kenny Herring and wife Cindy of Kirksville, KY and Gale Herring and wife Kim of Johnston, IA; five brothers-in-law, Glenn Coram, Ronnie Coram both of Metropolis, Terry Coram, Eddie Coram both of Brookport, and Randy Coram of Paducah; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne and Shirley (Mersdorf) Herring; one brother, Bruce Herring.
