Marvin Cone Watson, 70, of Elm City passed away Sunday.

His memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. Thursday at Joyners Funeral Home, 4100 Raleigh Road Parkway, Wilson. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Aliene Hocutt Watson; his sons, James Leonard Watson and wife, Tracey of Bailey, and Mark Christopher Watson and wife, Liz of Bailey; his granddaughter, Summer Fallen and husband, Scott of Elkins Arkansas; grandsons, Matthew Christopher Watson and wife, Katie of Wilmington, and Matthew Guy Ferrell and wife, Hillari of Wilson; his sister, Debbie Saunders of Wilson, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gurney and Mae Catherine Watson; sister, Kay Strickland, and brother, Gene Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcomed in Marvin's honor to the Veterans Residential Service, 2500 Nash Street, Suite E, Wilson, North Carolina 27896 or to a charity of one's choice.
