Wilma Lee Edwards, 81, of McAlester, died Saturday, December 9, 2017. Wilma Lee was born on June 5, 1936 in Ward Springs to George Washington and Zella (Hawkins) Dunn. She attended grade school in Ward Springs and graduated from Ashland High School. She married Wayne Edwards on October 27, 1954 in Ward Springs. Wilma Lee was a homemaker as well as a substitute school teacher, and worked for a short time at the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant. She and Wayne were lifelong members of the Friendship Nazarene Church. She made dolls and was a wonderful cook. Wilma loved and enjoyed her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson: Thomas “Tommy” Edwards; sisters: Hazel Lenox & Ruth Harrington; and brothers: Vernon “Shot” Dunn, Jim Dunn, Aubrey Dunn, and Autry “Bud” Dunn. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Bishop Chapel of Memories officiated by Rev. Cliff House and Rev. Bart Patterson with burial at Pryor Cemetery near Stuart.
