Alma C. Dotto Lister M.D., age 95, passed away on Friday September 18 surrounded by her family at her home at Bridgeview Estates in Twin Falls, Idaho.
She was born March 1, 1920 in Newark, NJ to the late Eugene and Catherine Dotto and was the youngest of five children.

In 1947, Alma graduated from New York University with a BA degree and attended Medical School at New York Medical College in New York City, NY and graduated from Medical school in 1951.

Alma then served a one year internship at Orange Memorial Hospital in Orange, NJ. She then returned to New York City for 2 years at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital for an anesthesiology residency. Alma then joined the teaching staff at Cornell Medical School New York Hospital and Anesthesia staff at Memorial-Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City where she met her husband Pete.

On July 19, 1955, she married Robert H. (Pete) Lister M.D.. Pete and Alma moved from New York City to Riverside, CA in 1959 where they both practiced medicine. In 1972, they relocated to Twin Falls, Idaho where she practiced Anesthesiology at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center until her retirement in 1988. After her retirement, she pursued her beloved hobbies including gardening, playing bridge, traveling, reading and spending time at the family cabin in Ketchum / Sun Valley, Idaho.

Alma was a member of the Idaho Medical Association, the American Medical Association and American Society of Anesthesiologists.
Alma Dotto Lister is survived by her daughters, Barbara Lister (Mel) Walter, Saint Albans, Missouri and Alma Lister (Ralph) Campanale, Sun Valley, ID, two grandchildren, Blake Mills and Alex Mills, Ketchum, ID. In addition to her parents, Alma was preceded in death by her husband “Pete” and siblings Peter, Eugene, Charles and Rose Dotto.

Private memorial services will be held. Relatives and friends are welcome to a open house reception at the Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID from 5 to 7pm on Wednesday October 7.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospice, Wellness Tree Community Clinic or Animal Shelter of the Wood River Valley. These contributions shall be made payable to the named charity of choice and may be sent C/O Parke’s Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Rd., Twin Falls, ID 83301.
