John D. Metcalf
June 11, 1937 - December 8, 2017 John D. Metcalf, age 80, of Verbena Drive, Corbin, Kentucky departed this life on Friday, December 8, 2017 at Baptist Health in Corbin. He was born on June 11, 1937 in Clay County, Kentucky to the late James Grant Metcalf and Bessie (Morgan) Metcalf. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Charlie Roscoe Metcalf and a brother-in-law, Hubert King. John retired from Crown Cork and Seal (formerly Continental Can Company) of Sharonville, Ohio and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a fan of Bluegrass music and a faithful attendant of Hopewell Baptist Church of Corbin. John will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his dear friend and companion, Anna Peace and her grandchildren of Corbin; two sisters, Callie King of West Harrison, Indiana and Zella Mae Grubb of Brookville, Indiana; brother-in-law, Eugene Grubb of Brookville, Indiana; sister-in-law, Jo Ann Metcalf of Sunman, Indiana; many nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

Visitation will from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at Croley Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hershel Walker and Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. Following the service he will be laid to rest in the Pine Hill Cemetery in Corbin.
