Norma Lee (Burns) Henderson was born on May 3, 1929 in Anadarko, Oklahoma to James and Etta Burns. She earned her eternal reward on December 6, 2017, in Oklahoma City, passing from complications of pneumonia at the age of 88.


She married Marvin Henderson, a WW II combat veteran, in Chickasha, Oklaoma on January 17, 1946. She and Marvin made their home in Anadarko and in New Mexico before settling in Lawton, Oklahoma. After Marvin's death, Norma continued living in Lawton. For the past ten years, she was a member of the Cedar Hills Church of God in Anadarko.
She retired after many years working in food services with the Lawton School system. Norma was a caring, gentle person who loved nothing more than taking care of others.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin and son Terry, grandson Eric, sisters Effie Burns Kelly and Lois Burns Gillespie, and brothers, Haskell and Gene.

She leaves behind one son, Rick, of the home; daughter-in-law Kathy of Oklahoma City; granddaughter Savelle Henderson and great-grandson Tristan of Oklahoma City; grandson Travis of Oklahoma City; and numerous nieces and nephews and other friends and relatives.

Graveside services will be conducted at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, December 12th in Anadarko's Memory Lane Cemetery.
Rev. Jim Estep, Cedar Hill Church of God will be officiating assisted by Rev. Steve Palczynsky. Retired, former pastor, Cedar Hill Church of God.
