Jean Ross Loe, 94, of Plano, Illinois, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Brookdale Assisted Living Center in Olympia Fields, Illinois. She was born October 18, 1923, in Chicago, the third daughter of William and Edith (Kirschstein) Ross. Jean was a long-distance telephone operator in 1942. She married Melvin E. Loe on May 8, 1943, at Judson Baptist Church in Oak Park, IL. To that union four daughters were born. She was a member of Plano United Methodist Church where she served on many committees and was a member of the choir for 32 years. She volunteered at the P.H. Miller School for 15 years. For a short time she served as a messenger at Sandwich Hospital, and was an election judge for over 50 years. Her first love was always her family and she loved being a stay-at-home mom.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Mel, in January 2008; her parents; sister Jessie Tyler; and a sister in infancy. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Plano United Methodist Church 219 N. Hale St. Plano, IL.
