Charles Lawrence Brandt, 74, of Las Vegas, passed away December 4, 2017. He was born May 4, 1943, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, to Charles and Gertrude Brandt. Charles grew up in Copake Falls, New York, and graduated from Roeliff Jansen Central School in 1960. He worked for the New York Central Railroad as a locomotive fireman and engineer from 1961 to 1970. Charles then moved to Las Vegas, and attended Clark County Community College. He graduated with high honors and obtained a degree in Casino Management. He was a Keno Manager at Landmark Hotel for 15 years. In 1994, he was a Keno Manager at Avi Hotel from where he retired in 2008. Charles was a member and president of Friends of the Southern Nevada Railway and a member of the National Railway Historical Society. He is survived by his cousin, Ken Brandt of Florida. Charles will be missed by his friends. Celebration of life will be in Spring 2018, at the Southern Nevada Railroad Museum, 601 Yucca St., in Boulder City.
