She was born the second of twins in Lewistown, Montana to Ted and Ethel Lanegan. After graduating from high school in Polson, Montana in 1957, she worked in Idaho Falls, Idaho where she met Douglas Gibbons, and the two were married on October 24th 1957.
Sharon and Doug made their home in Bremerton and Belfair, Washington from 1957 through 1990, where they raised their three sons. In 1990 they moved to the Tri-City area where they've resided since.
She was known for her humor and wit. She loved the outdoors and her many hobbies through the years included, piano, accordion, guitar, fishing, gardening, canning, knitting and crafts, among others. She was a people person, who always cared for others. She immensely enjoyed visiting and laughing with those she loved. Throughout her life she loved having animals of all types around. She had a particular compassion for them and especially enjoyed nursing them back to health.
She was preceded in death by her son Gordon in 1960, her twin brother Loron Lanegan of Clayton, WA in 1999 and her father Ted in 1982.
