Funeral services were held at the Gladwin Methodist church, on Saturday, January 19, at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Cyrus Hinkley, 63. Rev. S. J. Headley officiated. Burial was in Highland cemetery.
Lillie May Pitts, daughter of John E. and Jane E. Pitts was born in Chesaning on October 10, 1882, where she lived until 1901, when she was united in marriage on November 28 to Cyrus Hinkley, of Chesaning. They moved to Gladwin, on December 3, 1901, residing on a farm in Gladwin township. In March 1926, Mr. and Mrs. Hinkley took charge of the Gladwin County Farm, where she held the position of Matron until 1936.
They moved to Gladwin city, where they resided until the time of her death, at the Gladwin hospital, after an illness of one day, on Wednesday, January 16.
As a young lady she became a member of the Methodist church, to which she remained faithful until the time of her death, and held her membership in the Wagarville church.
Surviving are her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Frances Nash, of Skeels, Mrs. Nellie Brushaber, of Beaverton, Mrs. Myrtle Mason, of St. Johns; also one son, Albert, of Gladwin; a sister, Mrs. Rosa Burdick, of Chesaning, twelve grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
