Helen G. Wang, 92 of Fargo, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Bethany on University in Fargo.

Helen G. Hopwood was born on September 30, 1925 to Erbie and Bertina (Thu) Hopwood.  She attended Corrine country school and graduated from Courtenay High School.  While growing up, she worked hard on the farm along with the rest of her family.  She also helped out other farm families.  Her father died when she was just 9 years old, leaving her mom to support 6 children.  This is where her strong, hard work ethic was developed.

Helen married Lawrence Wang in 1947 in Jamestown, ND.  They lived in Courtenay, ND until moving to Grand Rapids, ND where Lawrence was a grain elevator manager.  After leaving Grand Rapids, they moved to Casselton, ND.

As well as raising 4 children, Helen worked for King's Food Host for 11 years and then at Blue Cross Blue Shield for 10 years, retiring in 1989.  Lawrence passed away on December 12, 1991.  She then worked part time for Stop-N-Go.  Her faith, love for family and always going above and beyond for others was her passion.  She always put others first and never asked for returns or demands.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; granddaughter, Valerie Ann Wang; brother, Byron; brothers-in-law, Ed Nogosek and Doug Barker.

Helen is survived by her children, Larry (Bev) Wang, Les (Debbie) Wang, Allan (Darlene) Wang and Connie (Jon) Carley; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; four siblings, Doris Nogosek, Robert Hopwood, Erbie Hopwood and Betty Barker.

Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church in Fargo or Casselton Cemetery.
