Floyd L. Simms, age 90, of Etna, passed away peacefully on September 3. 2017, surrounded by his loving family.

Floyd was born on October 23, 1926 to the late Warren and Clara (Ell) Simms in Groveport.

He graduated from South High School in 1945. Floyd worked for 15 years at Copco Paper, and for 10 years at Capital Paper Co, before becoming self-employed as FL Simms and Sons for 25 years.

He built 4 new homes for his family throughout the years.

Floyd was very dedicated to his family, friends and his faith.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Simms; children, Debbie (John) Oaks of Melbourne, Florida, Greg (Marlene) Simms of Reynoldsburg, Mark (Jenny) Simms of Pataskala, Aaron Simms of Cincinnati, Tracy Simms of Pataskala; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and step-grandchildren.

Floyd is preceded in death by his son Douglas J. Simms of Crystal River, Florida, brother Eugene Simms of Columbus, sister Helen McDaniels of Millersport.

A celebration of his life will be held on SATURDAY, September 9, 2017, from 1:30- 5 p.m. at the Reynoldsburg Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 8544 E. Main Street, with Pastor Anthony Southard officiating.
