Billy Faye Malone, 92, of Carmi, died Friday, December 8, 2017 at Wabash Christian Village, She was born in Robertson, OK on December 3, 1925 the daughter of A.M. “Red” and Eudoria (Fanning) Mullins. Billy married Hosea Malone in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1962. At an early age Billy moved to Wink, TX and in 1941 moved to Carmi. She graduated from Carmi High School in 1943 and went on to attend Lockyear Business College. She worked at Given & Hughes Insurance for 10 years. In 1975 Billy was the first woman to run and be elected for County Official. She served as White County Circuit Clerk from 1976-1992. After retirement Billy spent six months out of the year in Florida. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Carmi since she was 10 years old.

Billy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lockye and Dan Drone, of Carmi; two grandchildren, Adam Johnson, of West Palm Beach, FL and Debbie (Mike) Hinton, of Evansville, IN and two great-grandchildren, Ashton Johnson, of Henderson, KY and Taylor Teppen, of Indianapolis, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents A.M. “Red” and Eudoria Mullins, husband, Hosea Malone, brother, Darrell Mullins and a son-in-law. Mike Johnson.
