The community of Altona truly
grieve Che departure of Mrs. Viola
(Patnode) WOBdly Jr. who's death
occurred at her home in that villi
age on March 8th, 1031 at 7:45
| A. M. Her death came as a great
shock to her family and many
frends.
Mrs. Woodly Jr., was 19 years of
age and had been a pal to her father
since the death of her mother
who died seven year's ago.
"VI" as she was affectionately
called by her many friends was
greatly esteemed for her beautiful
Christian character and pure and
spotless life, she had a kind and
cheerful disposition, was full of fun
and always ready to take a joke.
Sadness, has come over her family
like a great pall, their sunshine has
changed to darkness and their
songs of joy to tears fpr the departed.
But the still small voice
within us tells us all is well; that
God in his infinite wisdom knoweth
what is best and all must bow their
wills in subjection to His. Why
should God not have a right to
His own? Why should he not have
a right to gather His jewels to make
his home bright and cheerful, al- \
though ours he left desolate and
sad?
The funeral services were held at
the Holy Angels Church at Altona
at 10 A. M., March 10 and the
church was filled to its greatest capacity
by her relatives and many
friends. Rev. Father Boulrice officiated.
Many beautiful floral emblems
testified very strikingly to the high
esteem in which she was held.
The following acted as pall bearers:
Henry Burl, Edward Patnode,
Will Wardner, Prank Patnode and
Eli Bodah.
Honorary pall bearers were: Rowena
Gardner, Esterene Bodah, Alice
Monty, Vera, Mildred and Prances
Goodman. The flower girls were
Aletha Guerin and Verda Smart.
Viola leaves to mourn her loss
her husband Frank Woodly Jr., an
infant son Harold and a broken
hearted father, George Patnode,
besides many other relatives anfriends who join in extending to
the bereaved family their sincerest
sympathy in their hour of sorrow and trail.
