Frances Rowena Moore-Montgomery

Frances Rowena Moore Montgomery, age 91, went to be with her heavenly Father on December 6, 2017.
Frances was born on November 1st, 1926 in Mounds, Oklahoma. She grew up in Sapulpa, Oklahoma and graduated from Sapulpa high school in 1944. In 1953, she married John A. Montgomery, Jr. The two were blessed with three daughters.
Frances worked various office jobs at different times in her life. However, her primary focus was always her family. Frances was an excellent seamstress and cook and her family was grateful for her gifts and dedication. Frances had a gentle, quiet nature and cared for her family with much tenderness.
Frances was a long-standing member of Tallowood Baptist Church where she attended worship and Sunday school. Frances studied genealogy and throughout her years, made many trips to research her family lineage. Frances made genuine friendships through her church, YMCA water classes and TOPS group. Her kindness to others will be missed.
Frances is preceded in death by her husband, John A. Montgomery, Jr. and her daughter, Patricia Alice Montgomery.
Survivors include daughters Nancy Shumbera and husband David of Houston; Lynda Conley and husband Larry of Fort Worth; granddaughter Jacqueline Allen and husband Brandon of Dallas; grandson David Conley of Los Angeles, CA. Frances also leaves behind two beloved great-grandchildren.
Service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, Texas, 77079 on Monday, December 11, 2017 at 3:00pm. In lieu of flowers, family requests that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
