Clifford Earl Welch, Sr., 80, of Oakland, MD, passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at Garrett Regional Medical Center, Oakland.

Born February 6, 1937, in Crellin, MD, he was the son of the late Clayton E. and Della Naomi (DeWitt) Welch.

Clifford was a self-employed truck driver. He worked for Aetna Freight Lines and was a member of the Loch Lynn Church of God.

In addition to his wife, Doris Virginia (Marple) Welch, Oakland, he is survived by two sons, Thomas Henry Clayton Welch, and wife Joanna, Oakland; Clifford Earl Welch, Jr. and wife, Carol, Greenville, KY; two daughters, Mary Catherine Hinebaugh and husband, Donald Lee, Sr., Deer Park, MD; Reba Jean Rush and husband, Bradley, Oakland; nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Friends will be received at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Services will be conducted at the Loch Lynn Church of God, 8649 Gorman Road, Oakland, MD, 21550, on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Ivan and Cindy Ackerman officiating. Interment will be in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens, Oakland.
