David B. Pickering 56, of Wayland passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017, at his home in Wayland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Joseph Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Cottonwood Cemetery rural Wayland. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday at the Murphy Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the Cottonwood Cemetery in his memory.
Dave was born on January 20, 1961, in Fairfield the son of Lonnie L. & Karen Sue Baker Pickering Sr. He was united in marriage to Cathy Zickafoose on June 12, 1980, at Moline, Illinois, they later divorced. Dave sold cars for Vaughn Chevrolet in Ottumwa and for Highland Toyota in the Quad Cities. He was a talented musician and was able to play many different instruments. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his parents Lonnie and Karen Pickering of Pleasant Plain, his children; his grandchildren; his brother and his sister Barbara, along with several nieces and nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his grandparents.
