He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph E. Black; grandparents, Norman F. and Bessie Anderson Stevenson and Leon and Eula Mae Higgins Black.
Ralph was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Monica Mayercik Black of Dalton; mother, Betty Jean Stevenson Black of Dalton; children, Jeremiah Jamieson of East Brainerd, TN, Rachel and Patrick Hohol of Rocky Face, Christopher and Jenna Black of Norman, OK, and Megan and Tyson Barrott of Ooltewah, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Steven Mark Black and Mary of Dalton; sister , Anne B. Pitts and Walter of Calhoun; many beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints .
Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Love Funeral Home on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon.
