Janet L. Lindsey, 70, of Shippensburg, died peacefully Saturday, January 28, 2012 in her home surrounded by her family.
Born August 19, 1941 in Chambersburg, she was a daughter of the late Cecil and Hazel Johnson Smith.

She was a member of the Prince Street United Brethren Church and attended the First Church of God both in Shippensburg. Janet owned and operated Janet Lindsey’s Beauty Shop in Newburg, Newville, Chambersburg, and Shippensburg. Years ago Janet cleaned many of the local banks.

She is survived by her husband, Charles E. Lindsey, Sr., three sons, Charles E. Lindsey, Jr. of Chambersburg, Brian L. Lindsey and his wife Robin of Shippensburg and Florida, and James M. Lindsey and his wife Carolyn of Shippensburg, two daughters, Linette K. O’Donnell and her husband Robbie, and Lorrie A. Timmons all of Shippensburg, two brothers, James Smith of Chester, and Kenneth Smith of Chambersburg, four sisters, Patsy Briggs of Chester, Doris Thomas of Shippensburg, Linda Gelsinger, and Judy Smith both of Chambersburg, 13 grandchildren including Nicole Bender and Shawn Swartz whom they raised, six great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry and Robert Smith.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home inc., Shippensburg at 2 p.m. Officiating will be The Rev. James O. Bolich. Burial will be private. There will be no viewing however a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services in the funeral home.
