Nancy Dilena Forsythe, eldest daughter of T. J. and Armanda Forsythe was born, February 2, 1871, near Dean, Iowa. When young in years she moved with her parents to Putman county, Mo., and lived there about seven years, when they moved back to Iowa near the place of her birth.
She was united in marriage to Samuel Carpenter, September 13, 1891, and to this union two daughters were born. The family then moved to Oklahoma, and after a few years they moved to Montana, in five years, Mrs. Carpenter, with her husband and one daughter and her family moved to New Richland, Minn., at which place she died, on August 28, 1927, being at the time of her death 56 years, 6 months and 20 days old.
She leaves to mourn her death, husband, one daughter, Mrs. Jim Briscoe, five grandchildren, an aged father, four sisters and five brothers, many other relatives and friends.
One daughter and one grandchild, her mother and one sister have preceded her in death. She was a good Christian woman and a kind loving mother, a friend and neighbor to all who were in need.
Funeral services were heid at Hilltown church, Tuesday, August 30, with Rolla Morrow in charge. Interment in Hilltown cemetery.
