Mindy Brown, 67, lost her brave battle with cancer on Tue., Dec. 5, 2017 in Oklahoma City. She was born on Jan. 6, 1950 in Evanston, Illinois to Col. James and Gayle Long. She spent 43 wonderful years together with her husband, Mike Brown. Together, they raised their two sons, Matthew and Stephen. Mindy dedicated her professional career to education--first as a teacher at Corpus Christi School and spending the majority of her career teaching theology at Bishop McGuinness. She was an involved member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, where she served as a leader in religious education and was named Woman of Achievement in 1990. We remember her for her ability to make anyone smile in any situation. Mindy was preceded in death by her parents, and she is survived by her husband, Mike Brown, eldest son Matthew Brown, his wife Sarah, and two beautiful grandsons, Cooper and Brody. She is also survived by her youngest son, Stephen Brown, and his wife, Rachel. She also leaves behind three brothers, Chris Long, Dean Long, and Jim Long, several nieces and nephews, and many friends. Flowers or donations to Epiphany's St. Vincent DePaul Society can be sent to Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.
