December 5, 2017 brought to a close 46 years of a life well fished for Marcus Chance Thompson. To his friends, he was Marcus, to his family, he was Chance, but no matter what you called him, you called him to go fishing. Marcus was born May 11, 1971 to Johnny Lee Thompson, Sr. and Sandra Kay (Jackson) Rogers in Oklahoma City.
From the earliest age his parents can remember, Marcus loved to fish. From sun up to sun down he could be found by the river with a fishing pole in the water.
Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents, Johnnie R. and Annie Mae Thompson and RC and Hazel Jackson.
He is survived by his parents, Sandra Kay Rogers and husband Jerry, and Johnny Thompson, Sr. and JoAnn Potter; daughter, Destinee Price and her five children; son, Brogan Thompson; brother Johnny Thompson, Jr and wife Christina; one nephew and three nieces, and many other family and friends.
Visitation for Marcus will be 1-8pm Sunday at Resthaven with family present to greet friends from 5-7pm. Services to celebrate his life will be 2:00pm Monday in The Chapel at Resthaven.
