Houston Hart, 92, of Hamburg, died Monday, December 4, 2017 at his daughter’s residence in Texarkana. Mr. Hart was a lifelong resident of Ashley County, and thought the only good reason to leave Ashley County was to hunt or fish or to go see his girls. He worked for the Crossett Lumber Company, later Georgia Pacific, for 47 years and was a veteran of the United States Army having served in the Philippines during World War II. He was a faithful member of the Friendship Pentecostal Church of God in Crossett, until his death. While a quiet man, he lived his faith and was a generous friend to all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Nora Howie Hart, his parents, Edwin and Maggie Doss Hart, two sisters, Eva Ford, Bertice Townsend and three brothers, Buck Hart, Ervin Hart, and Ellis Hart.

He is survived by two daughters, Demaris (Gail) Hart and husband, George Mills, Mary Macklin and husband, Paul; a grandson, Houston Mills and wife, Amanda, all of Texarkana, Arkansas. He was blessed with wonderful neighbors, especially Lynda Davey and Mike Fulgham who were his "Hamburg family".

Funeral services are 2 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017 in the Jones-Hartshorn Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Perdue officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Cemetery. Pallbearers are Mike Fulgham, Mike Stockton, Danny Thurman, Gerald Lauhon, Houston Mills and Paul Macklin. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Texarkana, 2407 Galleria Oaks Drive, Texarkana, TX 75503.
