Larry L. Nuckols, age 65, passed on Friday, December 1, 2017, wrapped in the arms of his two daughters. Warrenton, Virginia resident Larry Lee Nuckols went to his eternal rest with his Lord -after succumbing to a courageous fight against lung cancer.

Larry was born September 1, 1952, in Alexandria, VA. He grew up as the youngest of 4 in the Cameron Valley area of Alexandria. Larry loved to tell a good story. No doubt there were many nights spent in the company of good friends with a bottle of Jim Beam and some good ol’ Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Larry’s early years included running around with his nephew’s band, driving around in the infamous black hearse, and fulfilling his love of music by attending many concerts at the Alexandria Roller Rink. He went on to pursue a career with Safeway Grocery, where he was promoted to the role of Produce Manager. He prided himself in being accountable to his staff and his customers; his family never remembers him calling out - not once.

Larry was an avid bowler. One of his greatest memories was bowling with his daughter, Angela. He almost had a perfect game one day, but on the last frame, he left one pin. That pin is tucked away in his house today. He enjoyed cheering on the Washington Redskins, and he was so happy when his grandsons developed a love for his team. In recent years, if you ever saw Larry out and about, most likely he was wearing one of his favorite tie-dyed shirts - a love he shared with his two granddaughters.

When you want to sit back and remember Larry, visit his favorite ice cream shop-The Carousel, where he would go to share his love of banana splits and milkshakes with his daughter, Monica. Larry’s proudest role on this earth was being a grandfather.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard Whitten Nuckols and Lilly Pearl Nuckols, his older brother Lenny, and his wife, Davida Cheryl Nuckols.

Larry is survived by his sister, Elizabeth Faye Holder, his brother, Robert (Bob) Nuckols, his first wife Marion E. Anderson, his daughters, Monica Marie Law (T.J.), Angela Liberty Westbrook (Mike), and Sarah Elizabeth Radcliffe (Ian) and 10 grandchildren: including Grant Michael Westbrook, Mitchell Dean Westbrook, Eleanor June Westbrook, Griffin Wyatt Law, Reese Peyton Law, and Keirin E. Law.

The family will accept visitors from 1:00 P.M. until the start of the funeral service at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Moser Funeral Home, 233 Broadview Avenue, Warrenton, VA. Interment will follow at Brightview Cemetery in Warrenton, VA.
