Frances Badyrka Swartz, 85, of Dickson City, died Friday at Mid-Valley Hospital. She was a guest at the Lackawanna County Health Care Center. She was the widow of her first husband, Basil Badyrka, who died in 1936, and her second husband, Anthony Swartz, who died in 1974.
Born in Dickson City, daughter of the late Stanley and Agnes Kowalski Kuranda, she attended Dickson City schools and was employed at Dickson City Garment before retiring. She was a member of St. Marys Visitation Church, Dickson City, the Home Enthronement to the Sacred Heart and the Blue Army.
Surviving are a daughter, Marion Badyrka; a sister, Nancy Wright; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Frank and Edward; and five sisters, Mary Drobish, Rose Thomas, Sophie David, Helen Pochis and Stella Oleckna.
The funeral will be from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Dickson City, with Mass in St. Marys Visitation Church. Interment, parish cemetery.
