Kimberly Hughes, 42, of South Bend, IN passed away at 6:10 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Trailpoint Village, South Bend, IN after her fight with cancer. She was born on February 1, 1975 in Evansville, IN. Kimberly is survived by her parents, James and Coleen (Neland) Hughes of South Bend, IN; a daughter; a son; sisters, Melissa Hughes of Goshen, IN and Stephanie Hughes of South Bend, IN and nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents and extended family.

Kimberly was a lifelong resident of South Bend. While attending Riley High School, she took all city in high school track and also ran cross country. She loved animals and considered animals her babies.

Kimberly loved helping rescue animals, being outside and going to Potato Creek State Park. She never met a stranger and loved to talk with people. There will be no services or visitation.

Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel and Southlawn Cremation Services are assisting the family.
