Funeral services for V. E. "Punch" Alford, 62, of Kirbyville will be held at 2 p.m. today in the Kirbyville Church of Christ. Burial will be in the Bean Cemetery under the direction of Causey's E. E. Stringer Funeral Home.
Alford died at 11 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 1973 in St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont. He had lived in Kirbyville since 1929 and was a timber inspector.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Hilma Ruth West Alford; a daughter, Miss Deborah Kay Alford, Kirbyville; a brother, Wiley Alford, Kountze; and two sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Cartee, Kirbyville and Mrs. Lula Cole, Liberty.
