SHELBY-Jimmy Cannon "Bird Man", 50, of Shelby, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Meadow Wood Nursing Center in Gastonia.

He was born on Dec. 31, 1960, in Cleveland County, N.C., to the late Ida Lee Cannon and the late Charlie Reid.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Friday, May 12, 2017, at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
