Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 78 years, Edwin Willard Harn; her son, John E. Harn II (Vivien); three daughters, Joyce Elaine Christopher (John) of Versailles, KY, Sharon Ellen Routt (Bill) of Fishers, IN, and Wendy Joanne Baer (Tim) of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister, Joyce Henry Young and her daughter, Nina Amelia Johnston, of Arden, NC. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Henry Floyd.
Dorothy was the ultimate homemaker. Her greatest joy in life was her family and creating a loving and comfortable home for them. She enjoyed traveling with her Eddie, collecting antiques, vacations at the beach with family, and participating in LOW activities, including being a charter member of the Garden Club, and a long-time member of the Lake of the Woods Church.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dorothy’s caregivers for the kind, loving, and devoted care they have given her over the past few years. They would also like to thank dear friends and neighbors Jerry and Dottie Moser and Lisa and Randy McKinney for their many loving kindnesses.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Lake of the Woods Church. Reverend Mike LeMay will officiate. Inurnment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date. Any expressions of memoriam in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Lake of the Woods Church.
