Nancy Caldwell Cross, 74, of Mooresville, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Gordon Hospice House in Statesville.
She was born on May 12, 1943 in Iredell County, to the late Woodrow and Jenolia Graham Caldwell. Mrs. Cross was a retired teacher with the Mooresville Graded School District after 38 years. She was a member of Grace Covenant Church in Cornelius. She was in the Missionary Society, Christian Ed, and a Sunday School teacher. Mrs. Cross loved music, singing, and really enjoyed teaching kids and making sure they developed into their full potential. She loved her family and was always there for them.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Thomas Cross; and brother, Clifton Graham.
She is survived by her sons, Thomas Cross, Tylan Cross; brother, Robert Caldwell; sisters, Joyce Garris, Janet Griffin, Grace Brawley; and grandchildren, Trinity, Addison, and Nasia Cross, and Paxton Patterson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 2 from 2:00-3:00 PM with a service following at 3:00 PM at Grace Covenant Church with Rev. Paul Turbedsky officiating. Burial will follow the service at Bethesda AME Zion Church Cemetery, Mooresville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 933 Louise Ave, Suite 101B, Charlotte, NC 28204 or the American Cancer Society, 1901 Brunswick Ave, Suite 100, Charlotte, NC 28207.
