Geneva King Cox Burkhardt, 91, of Asheboro, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017 at The Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, December 7, 2017, at Ridge Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jim Petty and Rev. Johnny Henderson officiating. Burial will follow at Huldah Baptist Church Cemetery.

Born November 18, 1926 in Stokes County, Mrs. Burkhardt was the daughter of the late Everette and Mattie Lawson King. She attended Shiloh School and graduated from Coleridge School. Mrs. Burkhardt owned Little Village Dress Shop in Seagrove for 23 years. She loved to travel.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Carson Cox and her second husband, Daniel Burkhardt.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Cox Hoover and husband, Dean of Asheboro; sister, Juanita Moody of Asheboro; granddaughter, Ashley Hoover Duggins and husband, Ken of Asheboro; and great-grandchildren, Carson Duggins, Sydney Duggins; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph County, PO Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Ridge Funeral Home and other times at the home of Ashley and Ken Duggins.

The family would like to thank the staff at Clapp's Nursing Home and The Randolph Hospice House for the excellent care given to Mrs. Burkhardt for the last several weeks.
