Heather Louise Long, 48 years old, of Ellensburg, WA, joyfully entered into the presence of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior early the morning of December 5, 2017.

She was born on June 9, 1969 in York, PA, to Dr. Douglas and Suzanne Hess. She gave her life to her Lord in 1988, and was baptized into His Body. She enjoyed working in her father’s medical clinic. She eventually went to nursing school and began working as a nurse in Modesto, California in 1993. She blessed many lives at Memorial Hospital in Modesto, and was known for going beyond the call of duty.

She met Aaron Long in 1994 while living with Mark and Lorraine Grover. They married on October 5, 1996 and served the Lord together faithfully for 21 years. Heather loved Jesus and was joyfully dedicated to the ministry of the saints. She enjoyed serving others in her home and had a deep desire to impart the love of God to her neighbors, friends, brothers and sisters, patients, children and spouse. She delighted in the visible work of God in the lives of those she served, and longed to see the Truth set souls free!

Heather leaves her testimony of faith with her husband, Aaron, and their children, Kate, Dana, Will, Elsa, and Hannah. She is also survived by her mother, Suzanne Hess, her aunt, Virginia Hengst, and siblings, Heidi and Larry Mohler, Peter and Sharilyn Hess, Holly and David Long, HopeAnne Hess, Patrick Hess, Wendell and Marie Hess, Russell Hess, and Hillary and Wade Benedict. She is also survived by Aaron’s parents, Harold and Becky Long and his siblings, Matt and Annie Long and Deborah and Scot Boone, as well as many nieces, nephews and a large and loving extended family.

She was preceded in death by her father, Dr. Douglas Hess, and an infant nephew, Clay Long, where they are now singing Praises to the Lamb for eternity. Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

Visitation will be on Saturday, December 9, 2017 from 2-6, and 6:30-9 PM, and the Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 10:00AM, both at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church NC, Cascade Valley Meetinghouse (230 Tozer Rd, Ellensburg, WA), followed by burial at Cascade Valley Cemetery beside the Church House. Brookside Funeral Home is caring for the family.

The family would like to thank you for your love and prayers. We do not sorrow as those who have no hope. Thank-you for your support, we are blessed. GOD IS GOOD!
