Robert L. “Bob” Adams, 87, of Bonita Springs, FL and Plymouth, MI, passed away on Friday, December 1, 2017. He had been a seasonal resident of Bonita Springs for over 20 years. He was born February 12, 1930 in Detroit, MI, the son of Edward and Mary (née Vanden Beurgeury) Adams.
Mr. Adams retired from Ford Motor Company in 1995 after 44 years as the Director of Powertrain Operations for North America.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Patricia Deneen (née Chapman) Adams; his beloved children; Michele (Steven) Kimmet of Elida, OH, Patricia (Terry) Heffner of Greenville, SC, Erin Adams of Washington, MI, Bobby Adams of Newport, MI and Amy (Rob Mickovic) Adams of Pinckney, MI; eleven cherished grandchildren, Adam Heffner, Shannon Kimmet-Crow, Chad Heffner, April Heffner-Thomas, Sean Stephens, Bobby Adams Jr., Channing Adams, Joey Donoghue, Morgan Adams, Hallé Adams and Tricia Adams; and fourteen great grandchildren.
Visitation for family and friends will take place Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home, 28300 Tamiami Trail South, Bonita Springs. Funeral services and burial will take place in Michigan.
In lieu of flower, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or PetSmart Charities.
