Delmer Clinton Thompson, 88, of Parkersburg passed away December 2, 2017 at Worthington Healthcare Center. He was born April 29, 1929 at Rockport, WV to the late Leslie and Addie Buchanan Thompson. He was a member of the Liberty St. Church of God and worked at Johns Manville for 40 years in the Maintenance Department. He was also a Trained Medic in the U. S. Army and loved gardening.
He is survived by two sons, Gary (Becky) Thompson of Parkersburg and Michael (Sherry) Thompson of Waverly, WV, five grandchildren, Kari (Matt) Pigg, Aron (Melissa) Thompson, Nicholas Thompson, Ashley Clark and Clinton (Joanna) Thompson, six great-grandchildren, Savannah Thompson, Adison Clark, Isaiah Clark, Isaac Thompson, Andrew Thompson and Susannah Pigg, two sisters, Irene (Bill) Lowe of Marietta, OH and Norma Morgan of Elizabeth, WV and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Edith Thompson, a daughter, Kendra Kay Thompson, a brother, Charles Thompson and a step-mother, Corda Lynch Thompson.
Friends and Family are invited to attend the funeral service on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 a. m. at Kimes Funeral Home, 521 5th St., Parkersburg with Pastor Brian Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 6, 2017 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral service on Thursday.
