Stephen Mitchell Stone, 66 years of age, of Troy, MO, returned to his heavenly home on Saturday, December 02, 2017 after a valiant battle with injuries from a car accident. Stephen passed surrounded by his most children. Stephen was born to retired Major Chester Mitchell Stone and Arlette Elise (Jones) Stone, February 18, 1951, in Agana, Guam where his father served in the U.S. Air Force. Most of Stephen’s tender years growing up were spent in Houston, TX. Stephen joined the U.S. Navy and served his Country honorably from July, 1970 to December, 1972, including one year and 5 months in Vietnam. Stephen continued his education in his later years receiving a Master’s degree from Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO. Stephen was a subject matter expert in Telecommunication and Information Technology, closing his career as the Chief Information Officer for Medical Transportation Management in Lake St. Louis, MO. He leaves as his legacy two children: his daughter, Katlin April (Stone) Wilmes and husband Theodore Wilmes and his son, Matthew Franklin Stone and wife MacKenzie (Courtney) Stone; and his grandchildren, April Faith Wilmes, Becca Lynn Wilmes, Quinn Rose Wilmes, James Mitchell Stone, June Leigh Caruthers and Brantley Allen Stone. He also leaves to cherish his memory one sibling, Mary Pamela Clift. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester (Mickey) and Arlette Stone and David Michael Stone, his brother.
